The Client
Founded back in 1902, the Folkestone-Hythe Operatic & Dramatic Society (FHODS) is one of the country’s oldest amateur dramatic companies.
Based at The Tower Theatre in Folkestone, which is owned and operated by FHODS, the society presents a range of amateur productions – around seven each year – including dramas, comedies, musicals and, of course, our ever-popular pantomime.
In addition to the FHODS events, The Tower Theatre presents a vibrant programme of live performance and creative engagement activities to entertain, enrich and inspire audiences of all ages and backgrounds.
The Task
The Tower Theatre’s existing website used a free and basic WordPress theme, not befitting Folkestone’s premier events venue.
We undertook a huge operation to completely redesign the entire website, brand new images, text and dedicated sections for both the theatre and FHODS. We continued to use WordPress as the theatre’s staff are familiar with the WordPress backend.
The end result is a much cleaner, more professional and easier to navigate website that has received many compliments from both the FHODS executive committee and theatregoers alike.
In addition to the site overhaul we also maintain the site and update it following each event.
