Our Values

At TwentyThree Studios, we believe that how we make our work matters as much as the work itself. We are a small, independent production company and we don’t claim to have all the answers — but we are committed to doing better, continuously, and to being transparent about our progress.

Ethical Production Practices

We are committed to maintaining the highest standards of conduct across all of our productions. This means treating everyone we work with — cast, crew, participants and collaborators — with dignity, fairness and respect; ensuring safe and supportive working conditions; paying crew and collaborators fairly; maintaining appropriate safeguarding practices in line with our Safeguarding Policy; and being honest and transparent in how we communicate with participants, audiences and partners.

Diversity & Inclusion

We believe that the best stories come from the broadest range of voices and experiences. In practice, this means actively seeking to work with talent from under-represented backgrounds, considering diversity at every stage of production, ensuring our projects are accessible to as wide an audience as possible, and creating a working environment where everyone feels welcome, respected and able to contribute.

We recognise that we are at an early stage in our journey as a company and that there is always more we can do.

Community Engagement

TwentyThree Studios was founded in Kent and we are proud of our roots in the local community — from participation projects with young people to our broader commitment to producing content that reflects and serves British audiences. We are committed to working with local talent, suppliers and collaborators wherever possible, and supporting emerging filmmakers and young people interested in screen production.

Environmental Sustainability

We are aware of the environmental impact of film and television production and are committed to reducing our footprint wherever we can. Steps we currently take include minimising unnecessary travel, reducing single-use plastics and waste, choosing suppliers who share our commitment to sustainability, and considering location decisions with environmental impact in mind.

We are actively exploring industry frameworks such as albert, the screen industry’s sustainability initiative, and intend to formalise our environmental commitments as our productions grow in scale.

Supply Chain & Suppliers

We aim to work with suppliers, contractors and freelancers who share our values, considering their approach to fair pay, environmental practices, diversity and inclusion, and standing within the industry. We prefer to work with UK-based and where possible Kent-based suppliers.

Our Commitment to Improvement

We are honest that as a young, independent company we are on a journey with all of the above. We will review this statement at least annually and welcome feedback from collaborators, participants and audiences on how we are doing.

If you have any questions about our approach to sustainability or ethics, please contact us.
